Why should I prepare content for my upcoming Interactive announcement?
Having an interactive announcement on your hub is a great way to enhance your content and get direct engagement from your current and potential investors. Previously, you would have to wait until the announcement went live on the exchange before adding additional content like a summary or video. Instead, you can now prepare content ahead of time, which will automatically be added to your announcement on your hub when published on the exchange.
How to prepare content for an interactive announcement?
Step 1. Visit the Prepare an Announcement page
To prepare content for an upcoming announcement, you can click on the Prepare an announcement button, located on the top left of the Interactive media page, which you can find on the navigation sidebar.
Step 2. Write the title of your announcement
To begin drafting the content for your announcement, you can choose to add a title. This is mainly for you to easily remember which announcement this content is for. Once your announcement goes live on the exchange, the title of this announcement will change to follow the title of the published announcement.
You can also choose to leave this blank and continue uploading your content. You can change the title at any time by clicking on the pencil icon next to the title at the top of the page of each individually prepared announcement.
Step 3. Copy & paste your unique Announcement URL
To be able to link your prepared content to your published announcement, you will need to copy the link provided and paste it into your announcement.
When it is published on the exchange our system will scan your document to search for a URL that matches the one from your prepared announcement. When it finds a match it will then begin to merge your prepared content with the announcement.
π± Best practice is to copy and paste the URL as is into your announcement. Including the link as a hyperlink runs the risk of the exchange removing the URL.
Step 4. Add your desired content
You can now include a summary, video and comments to your prepared announcement as per usual. The only difference is that you will not be able to annotate your announcement until it goes live on the hub. Once you're ready, click Finish to have your prepared content ready for your announcement.
π± If you ever need to leave and come back, remember to click on the Save draft and exit button to make sure your content is ready to go when you revisit this page
π‘ Important Note: You will need to click Finish for the URL generated to become active and for the automatic linking of your prepared announcement to work.
Step 5. Wait for your announcement to be released
Once you've finished preparing your content, you will be redirected back to the Interactive media page. You will find your prepared announcement pinned to the top of your Interactive announcements.
With the hard part over, all that's left to do is to wait for your announcement to go live on the exchange. Once that happens, our systems will find and match the URL to your prepared content, which will then be fully published on your hub. After being published, you can then manage your interactive announcement like any other.
π‘ Important Note: There may be up to a 20-minute delay between the exchange publishing your announcement to when it can be seen on your hub. During that period, any person who clicks on the URL on your announcement will be directed to your Announcements page.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What are the potential reasons for my prepared content not automatically linking to my announcement?
1. What are the potential reasons for my prepared content not automatically linking to my announcement?
If you have prepared content that has not automatically merged with your released announcement, it is likely to be an issue with the URL on your announcement. There may be a few reasons for this, but the main ones are:
1. The URL was not included in the announcement
2. An incorrect URL was used in the announcement
3. The announcement was uploaded as a flat PDF
Our systems are unable to scan through a flat PDF.
You can easily identify if a PDF is flat by opening the file and attempting to highlight its text. If you can highlight the text, then the PDF is not flat.
Most systems will automatically export documents to an unflattened PDF unless you are turning an image or scan of your announcement into a PDF.
4. The exchange has removed the URL
In rare cases, the exchange may automatically remove your URL
This is usually the case when you include a hyperlink in your announcement
To avoid this, include your URL as plain text on your announcement
